Friday, April 18 Beginning the return trip to Seattle

66966    8 AM    32*  546 miles

We stopped at Donna's house one last time for hugs before getting on the road.  We wanted to make some time today, so we took I-95 down to I-495 around Boston, a short time on I-90 and then I-84 West through Mass, Conn, NY and into Pennsylvania, avoiding New York City. The GPS was programmed for fastest route but at the last minute, I noticed it had us going over one of the bridges into the City. Thankfully, I had time to re-calculate and avoid that mess. Saw a billboard saying "One text or call would wreck it all" but a great many seem to text anyway. The yellow forsythia was in bloom at the roadside. Saw a billboard sign that said "Paws and Claws" Animal Park.  I-84 was a rough road but pretty with rolling hills. The leaves were still off the trees, so we could see into towns along the way. We stayed in Scranton, PA and watched the colorful sunset during dinner at the hotel.

The leaf lives another day
